Our commitment to producing quality Margaret River wine starts with our team which includes one of the most experienced winemakers in the country, Bob Cartwright. The wine produced is testament to his many years of experience.

Bob Cartwright

As consultant winemaker to Knee Deep Wines Bob brings a true wealth of experience to the role. After 28 vintages as winemaker at Leeuwin Estate in Margaret River, Bob came to form an integral part of the team which had Leeuwin Estate listed in the top 150 wineries of the world, and amongst the top 20 ‘New World’ wineries. Bob’s experience and achievements with barrel fermented Chardonnay has been especially notable, producing consistently exceptional wines that have been attracting international recognition since the early 1980’s. Bob produces our Margaret River wines from the Thompson Estate wine-making facility on Harmans Road in Wilyabrup.

 

 

Greg_JaiGreg Nikulinsky

Greg has been part of the Knee Deep Wines  team since 2006 and oversees the Knee Deep vineyard in the premium grape growing Wilyabrup sub-region of Margaret River. He brings substantial viticultural experience plus the added bonus of extensive production management skills to this role. Greg’s previous position involved seven years at Ferngrove, a nationally acclaimed cool climate wine producer situated in the Frankland River district of Western Australia’s great southern region. Greg is a talented local surfer, look out for the Knee Deep ute at secret south-west surfing spots!
