2024 Birdhouse Malbec

COLOUR  Deep garnet with a ruby hue.

NOSE  Lifted blueberries, liquorice and ripe mulberries.

PALATE  Fine structural tannins carry elegant spiced fruit flavours to a generous finish.

WINEMAKING  Fruit was harvested when flavour, tannin & acid were all in balance. Fruit was fermented before being pressed off into tank, settled then transferred to French oak barrels. Careful barrel selection brought together rich fruit, firm tannins & a tight acidity to come together beautifully, producing a Malbec of great structural integrity & one that will reward careful cellaring.

VINTAGE NOTES  Above average Spring and Summer temperatures lead to one of the earliest harvests recorded in the region. All varieties reached full maturity with good flavour and balance.
